YGAero is thrilled to witness LATAM Airlines Group’s impressive strides in fleet expansion with its recent order of ten more Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, a decision that underscores the airline’s commitment to sustainable growth and operational excellence. This latest investment, made public on October 28, brings LATAM’s total orders to 120 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled through 2030. As LATAM continues to build its fleet, it is on track to establish itself as the largest Boeing 787 operator in Latin America.
Strategic Growth and Environmental Responsibility
LATAM’s new order is part of a broader strategy to operate 52 Dreamliners by the end of the decade—double the fleet size before the pandemic. The airline will receive its next two Boeing 787s in 2025, furthering its goals of international expansion and eco-conscious growth.
- Efficiency and Versatility: The Boeing 787 is celebrated for its fuel efficiency and long-range capabilities, making it ideal for LATAM’s international network growth.
- Sustainability: According to LATAM Airlines Group CFO Ramiro Alfonsin, the Dreamliner’s advanced technology will help the airline reduce its carbon footprint and operate more sustainably.
A Strengthened International Network
LATAM’s expansion reinforces its robust international network, connecting key hubs in Santiago, Sao Paulo, and Lima. Boeing’s vice-president of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mike Wilson, commented, “We value LATAM’s continued confidence in the 787 Dreamliner family to expand its network.”
LATAM currently operates 341 aircraft across various models, including 37 Boeing 787s, with its growing fleet of widebody jets further enhancing its global reach. At YGAero, we are proud to support LATAM’s dedication to innovation and are excited to continue collaborating with this valued client as they lead the way in aviation excellence in South America.
Cheers from YGAero’s Team!!
